The OEDA (Spanish Drug Observatory and Addictions) published last January the Report of Behavioral Addictions 2024.
The main conclusions have been the following:
🔸In 2024, he 53,8% of the population between 15 y 64 years has participated in games of chance.
🔸As for online gaming, he 5,5% of the population of 15 a 64 years has played in the last year, regarding the 5,3% of 2022.
🔸The online gambling is higher in men (8,2%) that in women (2,7%) and is more common among younger people.
🔸Among the population that plays online, The game that predominates among men is sports betting (40,2%), while among women the most popular are lottery type games (51,8%).
🔸The face-to-face gaming is much more widespread, more than half of the population of 15 a 64 years (52,9%) has played games of chance, doing it mostly through conventional lottery games.
🔸The video game use disorder drops to 5,1% the students of 14 a 18 years that could present it (7,1% in 2021).
